بشقاب میناکاری اسلیمی is built on a hammered copper body whose white enamel was fired in several kiln passes. The اسلیمی مرکزی motif is painted in mineral colours with a single-hair brush directly onto the glaze. Every colour layer enters the kiln before the next is applied, which is why the piece took ۲۶ working days. The سبز و طلایی palette follows the traditional Isfahan enamel vocabulary and is lifted with gold detailing.

The story

زهرا مهدوی descends from Isfahan's enamel dynasty and this piece was made in her workshop under her own eye. Enamelling in Isfahan is a centuries-old road: from hammered copper to the final glaze, everything is done by hand. For this piece the artisan drew on the tilework of Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque. It took ۲۶ working days and was finally approved through a thermal-shock and glaze inspection. اصفهان is the birthplace of the craft and its workshops now train a fourth generation of enamellers.
Clean with a soft cloth and lukewarm water; scouring pads and acids will attack the enamel. Avoid knocks to the copper body — a hairline crack lets moisture under the glaze. For long storage keep the piece in its box, away from direct sunlight.
